Game Tracker Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 September 2026

Game Tracker is a local-first application for organizing games, trackers, notes, counters, goals, reminders, templates, and crafting recipes.

Data stored on your device

Your game library, tracker and template content, recipes, selected game covers, note images, and application preferences are stored locally on your device. You can continue using the application as a guest without creating an account.

Optional accounts

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, that provider sends Game Tracker an identity token. Game Tracker validates it and stores a provider-specific identifier, optional verified email address, optional display name, account creation date, and hashed session credentials. Provider identity tokens are not used as application sessions. Signing out removes the session from the device and requests its revocation on the server.

Cloud synchronization

While you are signed in, Game Tracker synchronizes your games, trackers, user templates, selected covers, and note images through Game Tracker's Cloudflare-hosted service. Binary images are stored separately from tracker records, scoped to your account, and identified by a cryptographic checksum. Free accounts include up to 100 MB of cloud image storage, with a maximum of 2 MB per processed image. The app resizes or compresses selected images before upload where necessary. Local data remains available when an upload is waiting or the cloud quota is full.

Game catalog lookup and automatic cover search

When you add a game without catalog metadata, Game Tracker may send the title you entered to the Game Tracker catalog proxy for a background metadata-only match. This does not download a cover and an ambiguous or unsuccessful match is ignored. If you choose Find Cover Automatically, the same catalog lookup is used and you can explicitly select a matching game and cover. Game Tracker checks its shared catalog cache before requesting matching public game information from IGDB. Public game metadata and cover images may be cached in Cloudflare D1 and R2 so another user requesting the same game does not require another IGDB request. Search aliases are stored as one-way hashes and are not associated with an account, email address, or device identifier. Your device also keeps a system-purgeable local cache, which can be cleared through operating-system storage settings. A lookup failure never prevents you from creating or using a local game.

Photos and notifications

Game Tracker accesses only the photos you explicitly select through the system photo picker. Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device after you grant notification permission.

Operational analytics, advertising, and tracking

Game Tracker does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or profiling, and does not sell personal information. The Cloudflare-hosted service records operational statistics such as normalized API route, response status, country code, response duration, cache source, public game catalog identifier/title, and the game title submitted for catalog search. Search text and matched catalog results are retained for up to 90 days to evaluate match quality, reliability, API usage, and shared-cache efficiency. These records exclude account identifiers, device identifiers, IP addresses, authorization credentials, and user asset identifiers.

Data deletion

You can delete individual games, trackers, and tracker items in the application. Deleting your account removes its server records and cloud assets while keeping the local guest library on the current device. Removing the application from your device deletes its locally stored application data, subject to device backups managed by the operating system.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated before analytics, advertising, subscriptions, or other material data practices are introduced.
